Baby Log Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026 (version 2026-08-04)
Overview
Baby Log is operated by NLD Tech LLC. It is for parents and caregivers who track baby care events. Accounts are intended for adults. Baby care data is entered by caregivers and may include feeding, diaper, sleep, pumping, medication, temperature, growth, notes, reminders, and photos.
Data We Collect
- Account data, including email address, display name, username, and user ID.
- Household and caregiver membership data, including join codes and shared access between household members.
- Baby profile data (including an optional sex selection used only to choose a growth reference), event logs, notes, reminders, growth measurements, and photos you choose to add.
- Subscription status, product, environment, expiration, and App Store original transaction identifier when the household owner purchases or restores a subscription.
- Hashed Alexa linking credentials and your recognized Alexa command if you connect Baby Log to Amazon Alexa.
- If you report a problem in the app, the selected reason, summary, description, expected result, approximate time, optional steps, and an opaque report reference. Limited app, build, operating-system, device-family, locale, timezone, feature, and timestamp diagnostics are included only when you separately allow them. Your verified email is retained for follow-up only when you separately allow contact.
- An age range you select when creating your account, recorded as a range rather than a date of birth, together with your confirmation that you are a parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver for any child whose data you add.
- A record of the consents you give: what you consented to, whether you granted or withdrew it, when, the version of the policy or disclosure in force at that moment, and where the consent was given. These records are kept separately for general terms and for AI features, so accepting our terms does not consent to AI processing. They are deleted with your account.
- Limited security and abuse-prevention data, including user or app identifiers, hashed network addresses, hashed lookup values, request outcomes, and rate-limit counters.
Service Providers
Baby Log uses Firebase and Google Cloud services from Google LLC for authentication, database storage, private file storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks (which briefly queues account-email jobs), App Check, and crash reporting. Crash reports may include stack traces and controlled app/build, operating-system, and device information; Baby Log does not intentionally add account, household, baby, event, note, notification, URL, or token values to crash reports. With your confirmation, text submitted through AI Import and free-form Alexa notes are sent to Google's Gemini API to parse candidate events. Structured Alexa commands do not use Gemini. Baby Log does not use this content for advertising or tracking.
If you use Alexa, Amazon processes your voice interaction and sends Baby Log a recognized request; Baby Log returns a spoken response that may include a baby's name and care information. Account emails such as password resets, email verification, and email-change verification are delivered through Resend, operated by Plus Five Five, Inc.; Baby Log sends Resend the recipient address and message contents, including the action link, for that delivery. For an in-app report, Resend receives only a content-free owner alert containing the product, report reference, selected reason, provisional severity, and deterministic route. It does not receive the report narrative, diagnostics, account ID, or reporter email through this alert.
Apple processes App Store purchases. If you choose Siri, Apple Watch, complications, the system share sheet, or local notifications, the corresponding Apple platform feature receives the information needed to perform that feature. Watch snapshots and complications can include baby names and recent care details; notification previews can include a baby name and reminder text.
Sharing
Care data is shared with caregivers in the same Baby Log household. Baby Log does not sell personal data and does not use data for third-party advertising or tracking.
Retention and Deletion
Data is retained while your account or household exists. You can delete individual photos and baby profiles in the app, and you can delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes your account data, household membership, username record, Alexa linking credentials, and account-linked pending email requests. If other caregivers remain in the household, they keep access and household ownership transfers to the oldest remaining member. If you are the last caregiver, Baby Log deletes the household, subscription mapping, baby records, event logs, reminders, growth data, photos, and related join code.
Authenticated in-app reports are stored in a separate, access-restricted Baby Log support store. Report narratives and optional diagnostics are retained for 180 days; separately permitted contact data for 180 days; permission evidence and owner decisions for 365 days; draft communications for 180 days; content-free alert delivery state for 30 days; access/audit records for 365 days; and metadata-only rejected-submission records for 30 days. Legal holds may pause deletion for the complete report family where required; releasing a hold starts new category-specific retention periods. Account deletion removes account-linked support records unless a documented legal hold applies. You may contact support to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to legal, security, and operational obligations.
Baby Log may retain limited security and abuse-prevention logs, such as sign-in or rate-limit outcomes, hashed network information, and related user IDs, for up to 90 days after account deletion. These logs are used only to protect the service, investigate abuse, and maintain reliability; they are not used for advertising or tracking.
Health Information
Baby Log is a tracking tool and is not medical advice. Consult your pediatrician or other qualified healthcare professional about growth, medication, temperature, feeding, or health concerns.
